More information

Founded in 2016, Latitude Craft Chocolate is a vertically integrated social enterprise producing specialty cocoa and craft chocolate at origin in Uganda.

Our mission is to use absurdly tasty chocolate as a tool for creating local jobs and sustainably improving incomes for smallholder cocoa farmers throughout Uganda.

Latitude's journey in chocolate was born out of a deep desire to build a sustainable traceable supply chain, serving the craft chocolate market with premium Ugandan cocoa while positively impacting thousands of households. Our obsession with quality and sustainable development quickly gave way to building our own bean to bar factory here at origin, where our team of young Ugandan chocolate makers and chocolatiers produce Latitude's full range of chocolate products – from bars and bonbons to couvertures. By using locally sourced ingredients and inclusions, our aim is to bring the unique flavors and culture of Uganda to the world through chocolate.

We’re proud to be a Certified B Corporation company – meaning we meet the highest standards of overall social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability.

A unique cocoa true to its terroir, grown in the complex agroforestry Semuliki forests of the Yenga region, Uganda. The farms mix cocoa, cassava, banana, coffee, vanilla, beans, other local species and fruit trees. The cooperative brings together 2'500 cocoa farmers.
