Bertil Åkesson is the son of a Swedish diplomat who grew up in the world of tropical spices thanks to his father's passion. At an early age, he discovered the world of tropical commodities on the family farm in Madagascar. A passion he materialized by rehabilitating an old cocoa plantation dating back to 1920, specializing in cocoa cultivation. The quality of his work was rewarded, and he soon became a key figure in the world of African aromatic cocoa. His expertise as an agronomist enabled him to supply a large number of chocolatiers around the world (Orfève, Dandelion, Rózsavölgyi Csokoládé, etc.). The success of this Swedish expatriate has enabled him to extend his work to Brazil and Bali, seeking out new terroirs and flavors. The design of each new farm is imbued with a desire for sustainability, both for the environment and for the men and women who work on it.
